Question:

Breaking in a new snowboard?

So I just got a nice new snowboard. (Nitro Mini Pro by Marc Frank Montoya) I let somebody use it for a run. He said it was a good board but I need to flex it in. A couple years ago, I herad my friend say something about PVC pipe or book. Will this work to make my board flex better?

  1. no dude rozalita and jackjack are wrong. it's good to break in your board cause then you get that feel for it. try going down some easy stuff and like do some ollies and jumps. maybe just getting the feel for it will help because you'll get more used to it. eventually it'll break it no matter what, but that is if you snowboard a lot.

  2. Snowboards don't really "break in". The flex of a board is determined by the thickness of the wood, fiberglass, and sometimes carbon fiber components of the board. Your board might gain a bit more flex with time but for the most part just learn to ride with the stiffer board, it's less forgiving but you go much faster through turns and landings are softer.

  3. To my knowledge you don't need to break in a board.

I think that what your friend meant was that your board is stiffer than what they're used to and they think it should be softer and you should do something to it to make it so, but as far as I know you can't or shouldn't do that.

  4. My advice.... don't snowboard...... ski
