He already needs dental work done. Next week 1 tooth pulled and 1 cap and all the front teeth filled. Its been a week. I've read other answer. And done just about all of them. He takes a cup during the day. Its just when he want to sleep. He has'nt got a good nights sleep either. I think I have just about all them sippy cup. He's out of control, hitting, bitting and hes never been this way. My husband takes him on walks at night to get his mind off it, or takes him on car rides hoping that would help him sleep. When he does go to sleep he crying in his sleep and he very restless. Everyone says a couple of days, and it will happen. But its getting worse day by day. I have 3 other kids (16-10-7)and they all broke them self by 1. Im sticking to getting him bottle free. I want to be able to sooth him some how. I cant stand seeing him like this. Like I said hes nothing like this untl night time then he turns into a monster. Please help me.

  1. feed him real good at nite, and when he cris for his bottle let him cri it out,

  2. Take the bottle and the sippy cup away from him cold turkey.  Leave him in his room by himself and let him cry.  He will eventually get the point that his tantrums don't work and get tired of even trying.  It may take a little while but trust me, it well work.  Whatever you do, stop catering to trying to satisfy him with things such as walks and car rides.  Your giving in and giving him control which is why he knows that these tantrums will work.  His tantrums get worse because he knows that he will eventually wear you down.  Stop trying to sooth him, especially if you see that it dozen' work.  Sometimes the tough love is really what works.  And for the moments that he turns into a monster, turn into one with him.  No one wants to be tough with there children now, yet they will allow the children to be tough with us, teaching them that they are in charge.  It's our job to put the foot down sometimes.

  3. My second child, a son, was a lot like this.  Here is what we did.  Hope it helps!  We had gone to the circus a few day earlier and I decided to tell him that the mother lion needed a bottle for her baby lion.  I told him that I had to give it to her.  For some strange reason, he accepted that and was OK with it.  (Of course, years later by third child, a daughter, found the bottle and wanted to know why the lion did not still have it!)  It would work even more maybe, if you found a "cute" book about a lion to read to him for a few nights.  Good luck!

  4. This one is easier said than done!!!Trash all the bottles in your house! He'll get the point. A sippy cup and big boy food, or none at all. He'll give in-when his stomach is growling. He needs to have consequences for acting out of hand.

  5. My problem was Binkies. My almost 3 year old loved Dora. We had ended up getting tickets to Dora Live. So a couple of weeks before I started telling him Dora wants himto collect his binkies so she can give them to the new babies. So we rounded them up.

At the show we gave them to a lady selling blow up chairs and Isecretly asked her to toss them. The lady played along and said she would give the binkies to Dora for him.

So we had a few fussy days and I would remind himhe gave the binkies to Dora and eventually he forgot about them.

Is there a character he likes? Maybe a special toy and he could "pay for it" with his bottle.

    Good luck!

  6. Just make sure eveynight he gets a bath and you read him a story at the same time every night. He will get the point where he knows exactly whats going to happen and knows it won't include a bottle. And trust me I just broke my 2 1/2 yr old of going to bed without his binkie. He doesn't even ask or whine at all. He did for about a week and occaionally will ask and I say your a big boy you don't need your binkie and now he says ok. Just stick to your guns and Good luck  I know it's hard to do. I thought his binkie was adorable and worked so well but I just knew he shouldn't be using it..
