Breaking news: Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey signs loan deal with Nottingham Forest FC
Arsenal’s young sensation Aaron Ramsey has agreed to join The Football League Championship side Nottingham Forest FC on loan. The deal will keep the midfielder with Forest until 3rd January 2011.
Aaron recently returned to full-fitness, after suffering a career-threatening injury in February last season. Ramsey was left with a broken leg after a tackle from Stoke City’s Ryan Shawcross.
The Wales international moved to Emirates in June 2008 from Cardiff City as a result of a transfer deal believed to be worth £5 million. Since then, the 19-year old has scored 5 goals in 51 appearances for the Gunners.
The transfer move to Nottingham Forest is an opportunity for the talented midfielder to get some 1st team action.
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has already stated that he does not intend to rush Aaron back to the demanding playing conditions of the English Premier League, especially after the player’s long rehabilitation process.
Meanwhile, Forest manager Billy Davies was pleased on acquiring Ramsey’s services.
He said, “It's just nice to get a player of such quality in from Arsenal. What you sometimes have to do is go with a flyer and try to find out the availability of people and ask questions of friends and friends of friends. You
don't suppose you sometimes have hope but if you don't buy a ticket you don't stand a chance of winning the lottery.”
He added, “We thought we'd try a flyer, ask some questions and before we knew it there was a slight possibility of getting him and then all of sudden we're delighted. Everybody at the club is very, very pleased with the fact that
an excellent footballer coming to the club."
Arsenal also issued a statement on the club’s official website. It said, “Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Aaron the best of luck during his time with Nottingham Forest and we all look forward to seeing him once again in
an Arsenal shirt in the New Year."
Aaron’s recovery will be welcoming news for Wenger, who is currently battling on domestic and continental fronts. Also, the former Cardiff City lad will prove to be an able replacement for captain Cesc Fabregas, in case the Spanish
international gets injured in the future.
The Welshman’s return to action will also be encouraging to his national team, who have lost their first 3 UEFA Euro 2012 qualifiers during his absence.
