The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and PSV Eindhoven striker has decided not to extend his contract at Malaga and will hang up his boots this summer.

The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 striker, who played the entire 2011/12 season with the Andalusian side, has revealed that he feels the time has come to quit.
“Yesterday I've played my last match in my professional career. I've had a great career with the support of great clubs like FC Den Bosch, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 and Málaga. The time to
quit my career has come”, Van Nistelrooy was quoted as saying to the media.
The 35-year-old went on to thank all his family members, friends and his agent, Rodger Linse.
“I want to thank my family and friends, who've supported me all these years. As well as the supporters from the clubs I've played for. They have been great. I also want to thank Rodger Linse [agent] for the unique relationship
we have built up. Special thanks also go out to Nike, for the great collaboration we had over the years”, Van Nistelrooy concluded.
The veteran striker started his professional career with Dutch Eerste Divisie outfit, FC Den Bosch, in the summer of 1993. After making 69 appearances for the Dutch second tier outfit during his four-season stay, the highly talented
forward went on to join Heerenveen.
After one-season at Abe Lenstra Stadion, the 35-year-old moved to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven. The tall striker enjoyed three successful seasons at Philips Stadion that earned him a lucrative transfer to Manchester United in the summer of 2001.
Van Nistelrooy made an immediate impact at Old Trafford and played an integral role in the Red Devils success, netting an impressive 95 goals in 150 league appearances during his five-year stay in Manchester.
The prolific striker then made another dream move by signing a contract with La Liga giants, Real Madrid, where he grabbed an extraordinary 46 goals in 68 matches before joining Hamburg SV half-way through the 2009/10 season.
His contract expired at the end of 2010/11 season and he eventually joined Malaga, signing a one-year contracft, on a free transfer.
Van Nistelrooy netted 35 goals in 70 matches for Netherlands before hanging up his boots at International level last year.
