Im 20 years old and I want a breast reduction! My breast are 40 D's. I want to go down a cup size to a C. I have a little back pain from time to time and I fear that it will get worse. If I was B cup (I really want to be a B cup but I will settle for a C )I would be a medium in shirts but instead presently I am a Large because my breast need room. Also when I buy shirts the sleeves are always big because I have to get a big shirt size to fit my breast in. So whats the process for a breast reductio? How painful is it? and how long does it take to heal from the surgery? All opnions and comments are WELCOME!!!

  1. First, you have to set up an appointment with a very good surgeon. Be careful in who you choose for your surgery, which is very important. After this, tell the surgeon what you are looking for and discuss affordable prices with you. It should take at least a week or two in order for it to heal, as long as you have some pain releivers such as tylenol extra strength, or even ibuprofen. The pain is not that bad, but prefers pain meds. Whatever size fits you best, just go for it. If you dont like it, you can always go back and prefer something else.

  2. First you need to find out if you need to get a referral or if you can just go to a PS in your insurance company directory.

You will find a lot of helpful information at http://www.breasthealthonline.org

I went through it and don't regret it one bit.  I was in NO PAIN (didn't need the pain meds) but all of us are different.

I was out of work for two weeks.  I was fully healed after a few months, though it can take up to a year to get fully completely healed.

If you want my "surgery story" this has all kinds of information of my journey.  Send me your email.

I do not regret this surgery at all.
