I am exclusively breast feeding and up until now her p**p has been yellowish brown but today when she peed and I changed her diaper there is a greenish smear on her diaper. This happened twice and she hasnt had a bowel movement since. Is this normal?

  1. It's normal. I breastfed my baby, too, and her p**p changed all kinds of colors in her first few months.

  2. This is normal. No need to worry. After about 4-6 weeks of age a breast feed babies stool will change in frequency and poss. color.

  3. read on foremilk n hindmilk information. foremilk contants more water n hindmilk contain more nutrients n fat. if a baby gets foremilk all the time, p**p may turn green.

  4. IT'S NORMAL JUST MEANS THE NEXT STOLLS MIGHT BE HARDER

  5. DONT WORRY THATS NORMAL! thats how my niece poo's!!!and she 3 months!

  6. This occurs when the baby is getting to much foremilk.  You can help prevent this by not switching sides too often.  Some doctors mistakenly advise to switch sides after a (too short) prescribed time.  You should let the baby nurse until she is fully satiated on one side, then switch to the other side. Then next time you nurse, nurse first on the other side.  That should resolve the issue :)  Good luck!

  7. I had the exact same problem. I also was worried. I found out that it could be too much foremilk. My milk supply had not yet adjusted to her needs and made too much foremilk. She was always full before she got to the hindmilk. They suggest that you feed on the boob you left off with to get the hindmilk. Don't worry about it though. Your supply will adjust in a few weeks. Their p**p always seems to be evolving!
