  1. I don't know whether you read the news. They just made it legal. Oh, and Scotland IS in the UK.

  2. What are you on about?  It's perfectly legal to breastfeed in public England - I did it and no-one ever bothered me!

  3. Well considering the NHS are trying to push breastfeeding and when you have a baby it is promoted to you about a million times - I wouldn't take this law too seriously.

  4. Why do some mothers feel the need to breast feed in public? Breast feeding is a private thing and not something I want to see, thank you. As for the builders a.ss, builders spend time on their knees, as a result the trousers work down at the back, but I agree, not a pretty sight.

  5. d**n that's a pity.

  6. Stupid law passed by stupid prudish people.

  7. illegal where?

it is not illegal to bf in the uk.

  8. its not illegal

  9. I don't care if people breastfeed in public as long as they cover themselves up with something. I do not like seeing someone else's veiny b***s in my face when trying to eat. I went to the Toy Museum and there was a woman with her **** out and nobody knew where to look. Yes, its natural but seriously have some respect for everyone else that does not want to watch.

  10. I was under the impression Scotland was in the UK!!??

  11. It isn't illegal to feed here in UK, its just that a proprietor of a venue CAN ask you to stop on his premises, where in Scotland it is illegal for a proprietor to do that as women have the RIGHT to breastfeed anywhere there.

Here ~ although we can be asked to stop, it is not illegal to do.

"Women breastfeeding in public have been asked to move from restaurants, cafes, schools, and high street. According to NCT, one third of breastfeeding women report feeling more comfortable with breastfeeding in public since the law has been introduced."

  12. It is not illegal in the UK.

All that the Law asks is that it is carried out with modesty.

However, there is a Decency Law, this is often abused by prudish or embarrassed people that climb on their high horse.

Of course complaints of this nature have to be investigated by the Police.

There are too, some women that feel that they can whop a breast out and flaunt the action with ''sod you. I'm being natural; see me you pervs'' challenge.

    They are unfortunate.

The sight of a modest woman breast feeding a little baby (modestly) is marvellous.

  13. where is it illegal ?

do you mean in public ??

  14. I had my kid's in the 70's, and remember being asked to leave a restaurant because I was breastfeeding my baby. I refused, and stood my ground, I wore a shawl, and fed my baby discreetly, and with dignity, and explaining that my baby had as much right to her meal as the d**k head who found it offensive.

Back then, things WERE different, and I was looked upon as a leper, banished to the public toilets, to feed my baby, and I am afraid I became a pioneer to the cause, refusing to feed a baby in the smelly public toilets.

My daughter is breastfeeding at present, and things are ENTIRELY different, with more and more establishments providing clean, quiet area's for mum to feed her baby, and although ther will always be the odd eejit who takes offence, (usually men) My daughter feeds her baby in public if fascilities are not available, and has had very few problems.

EDIT..................Angel.  Eating is ALSO normal, but would YOU like to eat your lunch in a public toilet???          NO, I didn't think so, so why should a baby? Grow up, b***s were put there for baby's to be fed, not as s*x toys for men, and whilst I can understand comments like you'rs from men, it's disgusting from a Woman, and you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!

And as for the person who suggested expressers... Have you ever tried to put a rubber teat into the mouth of a baby who is entirely breast fed??? I really cannot get over some of the comments, and from Women too !!!

  15. Breast feeding is legal. Well at least it should be. I never heard of it being illegal. Maybe in some public places where they think it is offensive. It is the most natural thing in this world.

I'm a canadian living in Norway. Here 95% of the new moms breast feed and that EVERYWHERE. Nobody finds it offensive. People in North America finds it offensive to see a mother breast feeding her baby in a public place. It shouldn't be like that. Nobody should think it is offensive.

  16. As a man I have NO qualms about a woman breastfeeding her child in public...obviously within reason and discreetly covered, not hanging off the breast and walking along that is.

  17. i can't believe its illegal...um...it must be illegal to make it illegal since every government promotes it so much.

Am certain there are those who are not comfortable seeing it & would prefer if the Mum covered up. Normaly, thats acceptable everywhere in the world. Here in India, our National dress, the sari is ideal...you could be at a fancy restaurant & still be feeding your baby & no one would even know...in the US i know they use little capes.

My point is that tho' it should not be illegal, its nice to be discreet & cover up decently.

  18. I think it would be nice if feeding mothers kept it discreet though - most do but some just w*p them out for effect and I dont think that is necessary - particularly if its at a restaurant.

Also, how about if you saw a two year old plus feeding in public?

  19. I have been shouted down on several occassions for saying this, but I still maintain my views.  I am all for breast feeding if its carried out discreetly, most breast feeding mums do feed discreetly, but you always get the odd one or two who think it perfectly acceptable to whip out a huge leaky boob in a restaurant or some other public area and make a big show out of it, I remember once a woman sitting on a public bench in the middle of a busy city centre on a Saturday afternoon, and not only was she breast feeding, but she had her vest top rolled down to her waist so both b*****s were on show, and she was breast feeding a kid that was at least four years old!!!

In my opinion (and it is just my own opinion) I think that is so wrong, for one, a kid of 4 (or even older) does not NEED to be breast fed in the first place, and why did she feel the need to roll down her top and expose both of her b*****s.

She is the type of woman that gets breast feeding bad publicity.

  20. i dont. i think its kinda gross but its natural and its way less offensive that a lot of stuff i see everyday. when you have people out there abuasing their kids, i'd much rather see a mother nurturing her child

  21. The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether, Scotland is in the UK,

Just because it's natural does not mean it has to be in your face, going to the toilet is natural, f****** is natural, but we don't want to see it in public do we?

  22. it is going to be made legal in public even though m people do it anyway, I personally don`t want to be eating my lunch when someone at the next table waps her t*t out for the kid, I know it`s a natural thing and it`s better than made up milk, there are expressers on sale so there isn`t any need for it in public.

  23. I guess some people are just not confortable with the idea..

  24. I was suprised to find it was.  How can something so natural be legislated against?

  25. Wow is it really?  How bloody stupid is that?  If thats the case then we should make builders bums illegal and taking off tops in public illegal and extra short skirts and shorts etc...... How pathetic?  When will the madness end?

  26. Most women who breast feed do so in a corner somewhere and are usually quite discreet about it.

However, for those who disapprove, would you prefer the babies were left to scream in  hunger.  No doubt these are the same people who would complain about babies crying in public.

If you are out shopping with a young baby who needs feeding every 3-4 hours, you cannot guarantee that you will be able to get home again in time for the next feed, especially if you are using public transport.   Nature provided women with b*****s so that a baby can feed whenever and wherever it is necessary.  I think mother nature knows best!

  27. indecent exposure, that is stupid. very very sad

  28. How stupid is this country ? Very !!! Breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world but people in this dumb country complain if they see it being done in restaurants etc.. Nursing mothers are expected to feed their offspring in the ...................toilet !!! How ludicrous is that ? And this in the country that has the temerity to lecture Africans and others on hygiene in childcare !!!!!
