Breast feeding mums....and others I guess..does your baby do this?

OK... so for me it's related to breasfeeding but if you can relate it to something else that's fine.

My daughter is just so impatient. Before her feed she is fine, it is when we switch sides. It's like she thinks we're finished and I've never just given her one side so you'd think she'd have worked out there's more coming by now (she's 6 months). She gets really frustrated in the 15 seconds or so it takes me to get sorted even though she can see what I am doing.

Can anyone related to this with similar stories or any other stories of your child's strong character

  1. yes, my youngest does that too and he's 11 months old. he fusses a bit, and makes a very distinct cry (i call it his 'hungry cry'), then once he gets on the other side all is well again.

i think it's just personality. my others never did that. although i had one that would 'air suck'! lol it was hilarious...he would mouth the air till he found what he was looking for, all w/his eyes closed no less! lol kids are cute.

  2. That's cute! She's fiesty. The only thing I can really relate that to would be my daughter used to be afraid of the bathtub draining. She was so afraid of her toys going down the drain every time and FREAKED out for a minute or two. I kept keeping her in the tub while it drained to teach her there was nothing to be afraid of and she grew out of it.

  3. yes my baby does that too. She gets so bossy when its feeding time. I always stop her half way through a feed for a burp and she does not like being stopped! the way she screams- anyone would think I was starving her! and then when I do put her back on the boob she often makes this grumpy little sound while she is sucking and has a big frown on her face. Its like shes trying to say ' about freaken time you gave me my boobie back!!!!!" shes such a little madam. So cute though I cant help but smile at her little tantys

  4. It sounds like the whole "I want it and you took it from me" thing that all babies go through.  All three of mine did.

  5. If you just give her one side per feed your body will get used to it very quickly and you won't have to worry about switching. she drains both sides cuz you offer both sides. It's supply and demand. If you let her demand it from one side longer, that side will produce more. Plus she will get more hind milk that way so it will fill her up more. The foremilk is mostly just a thirst quencher. My little guy is the same way. when he falls off i want to burp him but he wants back on right away :) So I pop him on the same side again and he's happy.

Has she always done this? Maybe she is going through a growth spurt. Or maybe she just likes to suck. I would say just pop her back on the same side again. You supply will adjust and your daughter won't have to wait.

  6. Could you just keep her on one side and feed her on the next when she had her next feeding?  It is funny though how she gets impatient and you are still going to offer her more...

  7. Sound totally normal when bubs is hungry she wants the food source and she wants it now :)

  8. haha every time I feed my son I wonder if any other baby does this. I always feed him before he gets to the point that he's starving so he's content when I start. When he see's me put the bra part on the first side he starts freaking.

  9. I breastfed all 3 of my children and they all did that same thing.  I always got tickled at them because they were just greedy, and not ready to wait.

  10. hahaha yup my son did that when i breastfed him, i had to stop when he was just over a month due to a few personal things, but i tell ya what he is now 9 months and bottle fed and still does that if i take the bottle away from him of when its just about time to feed him and i have him in my arms with the bottle near.
