  1. moderate drinking is perfectly okay. The saying is if you are sober enough to drive then you are sober enough to nurse.

I have had 2 drinks in the time frame of my babe nursing, Once he's down for the night (he doesn't wake up till morning) I have gone out and had a d**n good time which means quite a few drinks.

Mom's need to blow off steam sometimes or they will go crazy! Just make sure if you plan on having a couple of drinks and accidentally over do it, to have a some breast milk in the freezer.

  2. I haven't drank anything because I wasn't sure if any was okay. If you really want to drink some and will need to feed right after you can pump some before freez it then after you drink pump and dump and just give your baby what you've already frozen.

  3. a drink occasionally is fine, but be prepared it does pass through the breastmilk and the baby might not like the taste.

I have an occasional glass of wine with dinner and its fine.

  4. I have had a couple glasses of wine...had no effect on my baby..if you are sober enough to drive you can breast feed

  5. When I breast fed, I didn't take anything I hadn't when I was pregnant.  You are still supporting your baby by your intake and it will affect him. You could possibly supplement a feeding by a bottle if you feel like you want to drink some with your husband, but I wouldn't breast feed and drink.

  6. i'll have a drink at dinner if we are going out. I just make sure that I feed her and empty both b*****s before hand. Usually she'll eat a couple hours later and be just fine. But I never have more than one drink and I don't do it very often. If I want more I will pump before hand and have breast milk ready in a bottle. This weekend I am going out and I have pumped a total of 30 ounces. thats more than enough but I know that I can have fun and not worry about her. Also you don't have to pump and dump unless its for comfort. The alcohol bypasses the breast milk unless your baby is nursing or your pumping.

  7. Yes one beer or glass of wine is fine. I had a drink with dinner last night. If you are worried about it the best thing to do is feed your baby right before you have a drink. By the time you feed again it will be out of your system. Alcohol is filterer out of your milk the same way it is in your blood.

My son has never reacted to anything I have drank.

  8. I have an occasional beer or glass of wine.  The beer can actually stimulate milk production.  I think the most I have had this time around was two glasses of wine in a three hour period.  With my older son, I had a little too much at a wedding and had to pump-and-dump.
