Do breast implants conflict with breast feeding?

  1. it depends on how the implants were done.

    if they're underneath the pectoral muscles, everything should be fine.

    if they're on top of the pectoral muscles, there could be a problem as the milk ducts may have been severed to fit them in.

    if there was a reduction or reconstruction (ie, moving up the nipple to correct a sag or make the skin fit properly around the implant) then there's not a chance.

When I looked into implants that was my question too.  I didn't get the implants but this is what I found out:  Yes.  It is very possible to breast feed with implants.  Complications would occur preventing breast feeding if the milk ducts were messed up during the surgery.  In most cases you can and it is not a problem.

    A friend of mine is now 3 months prego.  I found out on Tues and the first thing I said was: you know you can still breast feed even though you have implants.  She is planning on it.
