  1. I don't see why not.  You have a great idea on your hands!  Check w/ the pediatrician to make sure, just in case...

  2. You can safely leave milk in the fridge for 24 hours.

  3. That is fine.  You can safely leave breast milk in the fridge for 4 (per my Medela breast milk storage chart) days.  Before that time is up, if I noticed that I was going to have leftovers I would freeze.  You can also freeze in 1 oz servings that was you can use them when you child moves on to 3, 4, 5 and so on oz feedings it will be easier to measure.  At my breast feeding class they recommended ice cube trays because each slot holds 1 oz.

  4. They have special bags that you can buy and freeze your breast milk in that are sanitized.  I can't remember how long it's good in the freezer but in the fridge for 24 hours.

  5. You can have breast milk in the fridge for 24 hours and breast milk can be frozen for up to 6 months-so you're good.

  6. Yes, fresh milk can stay in the fridge for 5-7 days then you can transfer it to the freezer.  Best to not waste that liquid gold! ;-)

  7. Room temperature (up to 77°F or 25°C)   6–8 hours

Containers should be covered and kept as cool as possible; covering the container with a cool towel may keep milk cooler.

Insulated cooler bag 5-39°F or -15-4°C 24 hours

Keep ice packs in contact with milk containers at all times, limit opening cooler bag.

    Refrigerator 39°F or 4°C 5 days

Store milk in the back of the main body of the refrigerator.

    Freezer

Store milk toward the back of the freezer, where temperature is most constant.

Milk stored for longer durations in the ranges listed is safe, but some of the lipids in the milk undergo degradation resulting in lower quality.

Freezer compartment of a refrigerator 5°F or -15°C 2 weeks

Freezer compartment of refrigerator with separate doors 0°F or -18°C 3–6 months

Chest or upright deep freezer -4°F or -20°C 6–12 months
