What's the best one to use? I don't want to spend money on one that's not effective, then have to buy another. I want to get a good one from the get go

  1. I have the Lanisoh double electric pump.  I love it.  There are less parts in contact with the breast milk, so less to wash daily.  It is not as expensive as other pumps, but works wonders.  The only down side that I can even think of it that it does not come with a carrying case, but I bought one myself and spent $3 on it.  Totally not enough of a down side to justify spending $100 extra for a Medela pump.

  2. i purchased the medela pump in style advance...it seemed to be the one with the highest ratings anywhere I've looked....it's pretty pricey so if you're not going to do a lot of pumping, it may not be for you.

  3. I would advice you to rent one from the hospital for about a month or until your milk supply is abundant.  Then I would by the Medela breast pump.  The travel pumps are not very good in the very beginning but if you are well into breast feeding than I would go with it.  good luck!

  4. If your going to use it all the time get a hospital grade pump. You can rent them. My hospital has several models to choose from but mostly they recommend the Medela model.  If it's for occasional use you can get away with a lower grade one, these you can get from Walmart, babies R Us etc. Depends on how you'll be using it..

  5. Medela has many good models, and Playtex also has many. Both come in carry bags, have multiple suction rates, comfortable cups, and most of them are double pumps. I would recommend the Playtex. I have used it for 3 months and I just attach the bottle and pump right into it. I use the Playtex bottles. Medela makes bottles that go onto their pumps. Medela is more efficient and there are many replacement parts. They are both about the same price.

  6. If you're going to use it constantly then rent a hospital-grade Medela (it's called the Medela "Symphony") -- these are extremely powerful and, according to the hospital, cost a couple thousand dollars to buy. That's why you rent it!  If you want your own then buy the latest Medela In Style model.  It's about $300 (i think?) --  a great great great investment though.  If you're only going to be pumping every once in awhile (like if you're going out for the evening for example) then you get something that's less money.  (maybe the medela single pump electric)

  7. You can buy either the manual ones (less money but not as great) or you can buy the electric medela pump (about $ 300,00) and that pump is excellent!

  8. Medela Pump in style

  9. none

  10. I love my Medela single manual pump. It's great and I can take it anywhere.

Do NOT get an Evenflo single. My mom got me that one and it broke in less than a month. They replaced it very quickly, but I haven't used it since.
