Breastfeeding my 1 moth old baby and I have a bad cough???

I recently got a bad cough, runny nose and was wodering if anybody knew any homeremadies that can help since im breastfeeding???

  1. Hot chicken soup.  Hot tea with honey.  Hot shower.

    If you're really miserable, you can take sudafed or antihistimes, but use them for as short a period as possible, and keep an eye on your supply. (Cold meds tend to dry up your milk along with everything else -- but once you stop taking them your supply will come back with frequent nursing.)


  2. Saline nose drops twice a day and then blow your nose.  No cold medications, they just prolong it.

    I've found that nasal spray reduces the duration of a cold to three days or less.

  3. My doc told me that robittusin was okay, just make sure you don't get the one with the decongestant in it.  It tastes like c**p though!
