  1. All of my kids (6, 5, and 22 months) brush their teeth with fluoride-free baby/toddler tooth cleaning gel.  As soon as we have enough money (probably not until we get our tax check in January) we're getting a faucet filter to get that c**p out of our water.  Fluoride works on contact with teeth.  It doesn't need to be ingested.  If you want your toddler to benefit from fluoride, try to find a fluoride rinse and teach him/her to swish and spit.

  2. call your city or whoever controls your water they will tell you if your water has flouride in it. your doctor if he is local should have this information as well. if your water does not have flouride. your doctor will prescribe a supplement in the form of a liquid that you give a couple drops a day

  3. Hmmm... When my now 3-year-old was still nursing at 2 yrs, his dentist recommended fluoride supplement.  But, I have read online that fluoride is very poisonous when a child gets too much.  Your child probably gets a lot of fluoride just from you cooking with tap water.  You could call the health dept and have them check your tap to see if there is fluoride in it...

    Good luck!

BY THE WAY--My 3-year-old has next to PERFECT teeth, and I doubt his fluoride levels are low.  (Basically the fear of TOO much fluoride is that it WEAKENS bones and teeth!!!)

  4. ? breastfeeding a almost 2 year old? I hope it's in a cup or ouch!
