How many laps can a competitive swimmer go at full speed continuously before becoming exhausted?

  1. If by "full speed" you mean race pace, I don't know of any breaststroke event longer than 200 meters.  That event is pretty grueling... most swimmers tend to be exhausted when they finish one.

    However, as a matter of just doing a strong workout pace, a strong breaststroker can probably pace it so he or she can do 500 meters at a time without stopping.  It's a tiring stroke to do hard, though, so you may want to cut down the distances and take short rest breaks in between reps.
