Breathing through your eyes?

I was just wondering if its possible?

I've heard that if you've had your adinoids removed, and hold your nose and mouth closed and push air as if to breath, air is released from your eyes.

Possible?

  1. I know you can do this with ears... but eyes?

    :S

  2. Not through the eyes, and it's not breathing, but some people do have the ability to blow air out of their tear ducts (on the inside corner of the eyelids) in that manner.

Their normal uses is to drain tears to the nasal passages, so a forced reversal is quite possible.

    Not recommended...

  3. Don't need the adenoids removed for this to work.

There is a small opening in the lid (look carefully at inner corner near the nose) that drains tears to the nose.  You could force air from the nose up through that hole.  But it wouldn't work to breath, as the volume of air is very small

  4. I don't know if it possible. I just tried it and tears started coming out of my eyes!

  5. absoulutely, my friend used to blow smoke out of his tear ducts when he held his nose!!

  6. It could be possible to squeeze out a little air, but that is not breathing. You could not get enough air to live for very long that way.
