  1. PumbaCheetahgirl has it flipped.

You want to breathe IN through your NOSE and OUT through your MOUTH.

Personally, I use only my nose as much as possible because, if I use my mouth at all, it dries up very fast. So, when I'm racing (I run the 1600m), I try to use only my nose the first 2 laps and controlled nose-inhale & mouth-exhale breaths the last 2 laps.

Experiment to find out what works best for you.

  2. i think that you are supposed to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth

  3. Generally it is going to be in through your nose out through the mouth. Some people breath only through their nose and some breath only through your mouth (I am one of them) It has to be what is comfortable for you. Everyone has different noses. I broke my nose before and so I can't get enough air in through my nose to run so I breath in and out through my mouth. My mouth does get dry fast but I just sip on water and keep hydrated and it doesn't bother me all to much. and also I take 2 steps when I breath in and 2 steps when I breath out. When I start getting tired I focus on that. I hope this helps.

  4. I think if you synchornize your breathing with your running that would help. :)

  5. In through mouth, out through nose.Repeatedly.Stop to catch a swig of water every once in a while.
