This year I've been struggling when running, right from the get go my chest would burn like crazy like I've been sprinting a lap and trying to catch my breath.

I've been in the army 5 yrs and ran a lot. I had about 2 months off from running but ran once or twice in between. When I try to get back in the flow for a couple weeks now, I've been struggling with my breating.. anyone know the reason?

I've been going to school a lot, bin stressful a bit, I dont smoke, drink occassionally. Had a shoulder injury about a year ago, it's been healing up, feel good now. I drink juice and water. If any of these are symptoms let a brother know : )

  1. Not sure, but could it be air pollution?

  2. For the first time in my life I had allergies this "season"...they were killing me. I had casually mentioned it to my Dr. that my eyes were itchy and he prescribed me medication...which helped more than I can say. I as a runner, I felt the same as you. I know guys don't like to go to the Dr. but you will be thankfull you did!  I am assuming with your military background Dr. visits are covered. You have nothing to lose but a few hours and everything to gain! :) Good luck and thanks for fighting for our country!

  3. Get your sinuses checked. Mine were blocked up and had an operation to clear them up... generally lets more air in :)

  4. That is normal at your age. I am an architect, i was a good runner ten years ago, but now its time for me to go slow.

Just run and enjoy the run. If your body signals you to go slow, then slow down, its not a machine.
