  1. In this day and age they would nearly preform a c-section 90% of the time, because of the position of the baby it causes more distress and the chord is more likely to be wrapped around their neck.

There are various breech positions, bum first or legs first, im a twin and i was born legs first 21 years ago.. it just goes to show how much the times and medical protocol has changed in this feild

  2. If the baby is breech late in pregnancy, they will almost always do a c-section, probably around 38 weeks.  It's too bad, as most breech babies can be born vaginally without any problems.  They will schedule the c-section for before your due date, as they won't want you to go into labour.

  3. my friend is due this thursday coming the 28th but her baby is breech. she is booked in this tuesday 26th for a c section. thats if she dont go into labour before that

  4. I'm 23 weeks and I had my 20 week scan when I was 20 week 5 days. they told me when I had my ultrasound that my baby was breech, bottom down with her legs to her chest and very low, I was told that I might have to have another ultrasound, I suppose I will find out when I next see my midwife on 3rd September. I haven't seen her since I was 15 weeks and I'll be nearly 25 when I next see her which is abit scary.

I think they wait to see if the baby moves and they will send you for another scan, if not I think they can try and turn the baby, you can have a natural birth but it does carry a higher risk.

I read some where that if your baby is still breech at 38 weeks they will do a section shortly after that.

If my baby is still breech which I think she is I will opt for a c section if offered one.

    Good Luck and don't worry

  5. they let me get to 10 cm before they did my c section

  6. depends on how far along you are. My baby was breech at my 20 week ultrasound. I'm 34 weeks now it should have given it enough time to turn. Doctors will wait and see if the baby turns on its own and have ways of telling if so. And if they're really concerned they'll schedule you for another ultrasound so don't panic. Now if you're really close they'll keep an eye out and if so then yes you'll have to get a c-sect. so that way they're not worried about your water breaking and you having a breech baby natural. Which could be potentially dangerous. Sooo.. it all depends on how far along and if the baby does what its supposed to. So relax and sit and wait :) Congrats :)

  7. Yes they will, its more likely for your baby to get the cord wrapped round its neck. Obviously this is very dangerous for the baby and also it can become very pain and streesfull for the mother. So if it is taking to long and the baby is distressed they will perform a C section.

  8. It depends on what breech position your baby is in.  Some babies turn around during labor.  They will not let it get to a dangerous point.

  9. I was scheduled for a c-section at about 36 weeks and they did the c-section at about 38 1/2 weeks for a breech baby.  They don't let you go into natural labor with a breech baby (unless you go into labor early).

  10. If they think the baby is not going to turn into position, and has been breech since day one, they will usually try and schedule a c-section at least 2 weeks before your due date.

  11. back in the day, my mom delivered my sister and i breech. i cant imagine it being fun. but now, doctors will try and turn the baby if the baby dosnt turn him self during labor. if they are unsuccessfull, they will do a c-section.
