  1. I've had Robos and right now I have a Sryian hamster (full size) and a Siberian (dwarf). The robos never bit me and only pooped on me once, but never peed on me either. The Siberian (actually he's a winter white Russian dwarf, but I'm betting that his parenting is mixed...) does bite occasionally when taken out, but not after he's out. I would suggest roborovski dwarf hamsters because I found that they got along really well and also enjoyed being handled. They are quite fast, and they need either a plastic cage or a glass tank, as they can squeeze through bars, but they are sweet. Mine enjoyed sitting on my shoulder or lap when I read or went on the computer.

  2. technically dwarf hamsters are more fidgety. and the longer you hold them, the more likely they are to have an accident. teddy bear hamsters, or syrian hamsters, liked to be held and cuddled more than any other breed of hamsters. so you mite wanna consider that breed instead

  3. all hamsters do that!

  4. I've got 3 russian dwarfs and I can handle them all perfectly fine without any problems, they didn't take no time at all to tame either. I wouldn't suggest Roborvski's as they are quite active and very fast. But very cute though haha

  5. well I guess I'm lucky because, they're are 3 russian campells at the pet store I just reserved and I held them for like ten minutes straight and didn't even nip, now obviously not all russians campells are like that but they were, so...

  6. its actually not reccommended to keep hamsters or any rodent really, in an aquarium because of the potention build up of ammonia from their urine. Make sure you keep the tank bedding clear and scoop the p**p. I had a dwarf hamster, it was EVIL. We named it Hannibal the Hamster.  No amount of patience and love would make that hamster not go out of its way to bite me or my other animals. Hopefully you have a better experience :)
