Breeders’ Cup winners with Churchill ties to parade on Veterans Day
Breeders’ Cup winners with Churchill ties will parade under the Twin Spires before the 10-race Veterans Day program on 11 November, 2012, and five of the seven Breeders’ Cup winners will start their walk from the barn area, and will pass the grand stand
area, ending their parade at the paddock where they will reside until the races for the day are over.
The Breeders’ Cup champions, who made it back to Churchill Downs, include the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner, Wise Dan, who is currently based at Lexington with trainer Charles Lopresti, and will van up from Keeneland to join the ceremony.
The winner of the richest race of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, the Grade 1, $5million Breeders’ Cup Classic, Fort Larned also has Churchill ties, will also be parade on Sunday, along with the Grade 1 Filly and Mare Sprint winner, Groupie Doll.
"Buff" Bradley, Carl Hurst and Brent Burns, Priscilla Vaccarezza's, Little Mike, who won the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf and the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner, Tapizar, will make up the five Breeders’ Cup winners out of seven with Churchill ties
to join the parade.
Along with the horses, their owners, breeders, trainers, jockeys, and stable assistants will be present at the parade as well.

The winners, who will not be able to make it to Churchill Downs on 11 November, will be the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint winner, Hightail, and the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic winner, Royal Delta.
Hightail is stables at Churchill Downs, but will not take part in the ceremony, because trainer Wayne Lukas will be training the colt for his next start in the Grade 3, $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot on 17 November, while, Royal Delta is stabled with Bill
Mott’s string in New York.
