When you breed a parakeet, should it have to live in its nesting box or should it simply have a box in its cage?

ALSO, how can you tell if the bird is pregnant?

  1. First of all birds do not get pregnant the egg is fertilized as it moves down  the fallopian tube, so you cannot tell.  It needs a nesting box IN the cage

  2. You MAYBE able to see swelling around the vent area before it's ready to lay.

  3. Have a box connected to his cage so he can go in, and you can take it to your vet  and they can tell if your budgie(parakeet) is pregnant =)
