Ok. I know how to do it all and everything. But no pet store is willing to buy them. So. Can I just have him "squeeze" her like two times and then take her out?

I could give them to friends and sell them in like Kool-Aid stands. lol

But I dont know. And you can keep 3 females with their dad right?

After they get big and all. They wont mate right?

But can you please answer. :]

THANKS!

  1. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, sweetie - poo, fish are animals and animals will do the freak with anyone they please.

I suppose you could sell them.

EDIT: I guess these people know more about betas then me, h**l, I know they do, So do not take my word as far as selling, I would ask a vet.

  2. You can't keep the females with their father, if they are lucky enough to survive living with him long enough to become full grown, he will breed with them.  You really can't keep any betas together unless it's a group of only females, and even then you have to have at least three together.  They will establish a hierarchy after about a day and then will live together fine.  You can't only have two females together though b/c the dominant female will just constantly pick on the other female.  You also can't add any more females to the tank after one or more other females has established it as their territory.  To add more females you have to separate them all out into other tanks for a couple days and then add them all into the tank you want to keep them in at the same time.  Breeding betas is a lot of work and you will end up with tons of little containers filled with males everywhere.  Make sure it's something you really want to do b/c it's a lot of work!

After the female releases the eggs take her out.  Only the male cares for the eggs and the females actually like to eat them.

  3. You can sell them off aquabid.com. And the male might kill them. Fish don't really care about family, they do it with whoever they want, and the male will kill any female that is not ready to mate to get her out of his territory to let in females that are ready to mate.

  4. Well, I don't think selling them like at a koolaid stand is a good idea, because for all you know, they can be going for food for an oscar or something! At the very least if you do that, you should print out betta care sheets and explain to people what it takes to properly care for one. I have seen too many bettas neglected because people don't know better.  And it doesn't matter if it's the dad or not, they will mate at some point lol, but the more likely possibility is that they will fight when they are bigger.
