Breeding cockatiel help?

my cockatiels wont sit on their eggs and i dont know what to do...should i take out the eggs and put them in an incubator? they have been off the eggs for a few hours now and the were laid 3 days ago. the first 2 days were good and now they wont go in the nestbox to care for the eggs

  1. Hi,

    Just leave them because if the birds won't sit they won't raise the chicks either and so you would have to hand raise the chicks.


  2. i say leave the eggs alone, just watch them after they hatch, make sure the babies are standing up, then you will know they are ok

  3. The best thing to do is to leave the birds alone other then food and water and cleaning the cage. They may just be ok off of them for a while and the more you leave them alone the more they will want to breed and have babies. Them eggs won't go bad right away and it is way too soon for you to be taking their eggs out of their nest right now. Your best bet is to wait and watch from a distance and do not interfere with them any more. Your interefering with them could very well discourage them from breeding at all or continueing with this clutch. They do better on their own without any input from humans.
