  1. Breeding in captivity is quite common especially in finches. Things you need to make sure you have is you need to make sure its deffinetly a male and female. Make sure to buy the proper nest. You can usually find these at your local pet store. They are small covered nests which are made of the same material you see baskets made of. They are woven. Those are usually the cheapest and they attach to the cage easily. Other choices can be a nesting box but they can be more expensive. With the nest supply timothy hay. Do NOT put it in the nest for them.   Just throw a handful or two in and they will put it in themselves. After they have done this supply them with premium finch food and fresh clean water throughout the day. Everything else will happen naturally. They feed the finches buy eating the seed and regurgitating it into the babies mouth. If a baby falls out you can try to help it. The myth about touchin babies and their mothers rejecting it is untrue. BUT...if the baby is thrown out again the mother or father did it for a reason. If an egg falls out its usually to late for that egg but still you should put it back just in case. Let the finches be and try not to stress them out as much as possible.
