Bayern Munich icon http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Breitner identified Dortmund as lacking the wisdom over their continued persistence of not claiming to be the favourites for the German League title in the coming season, due to their agenda of progressing
to the knockout format of the UEFA Champions League.
The German double winning side were knocked out of Europe’s premier club competition by the end of last year and the disappointment has forced them to improve on that standing in the upcoming campaign.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Breitner-c8032 does not seem to be contempt with the stance of the BVB that going beyond the group stages in the European elite tournament will hamper their chances of making a hat-trick of league titles.
The 60-year-old suggested it is childish and Die Borussen outfit will soon realise how stupid they are perceived by the other clubs. The commentator believes that the German side will definitely go to the first round in the Champions
League and a repeat of last season is not possible.
"It is childish. I am sure that Dortmund would rethink their stance quickly if they got to hear what all the other sides thought. People, stop with this childishness, its ridiculous! I expect that they will be involved in Europe
in the second half of the season. Dortmund will not be able to bow out of the Champions League with a whimper this time," he added.
The Bayern advisor expects that Dortmund will not have the advantage of playing fewer games in the coming season as they previously did because Bayern was involved in the European cup until the final game. He claimed that only
the best team will win the season this time around.
"Therefore, you will see this season who is really No.1 [in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904] and not only who is No.1 due to lack of games, but the No.1 over a decent season, with many games in the Champions League," he finally concluded.
Breitner also played for Real Madrid during his famous career and played for the Bavarian giants in two different spells.
