Brem Forbes praises Robbie Stewart for receiving PGA Fellow Professional status - Golf News
Captain of the Cruden Bay Golf Club, Brem Forbes has spoken highly of the Club's Director Robbie Stewart after he was given the PGA Fellow Professional status in recognition of his services to golf.
Sharing his thoughts about the honorific award, Brem Forbes said Stewart is one of the few personalities who have contributed enormously towards the development of golf in their respective roles.
He said that the recognition of Stewart’s services for the sport is "a welcome move" by the Accreditation of Professional Achievement and Learning (APAL) council.
He said that people like Robbie should be encouraged, which will benefit the sport in the long run.
''Robbie has put in a tremendous effort since taking on the role of director of golf and this recognition of his work is thoroughly deserved,” Forbes said.
"I am sure that in the years ahead, the members and visitors will reap the benefits of Robbie's total dedication to the management, promotion and marketing of Cruden Bay Golf Club,” he added.
In addition to his services to the management of the Club in general, and golf in particular, Stewart has also been remarkable at coaching.
He has been part of the Cruden Bay for more than 20 years now. Although Stewart joined the club as a Director of Golf quite later in his long-standing career, he did his best to bolster the credibility of the sport across the world.
After receiving the award, he told the reporters that he always felt proud of being the member of PGA and the recognition he received is very special to him.
He went on to say that he always enjoyed learning new things and PGA has always provided its members with opportunities for learning and professional growth.
He said it was an honour for him to be associated with the Club and that his role in the management and development of the organisation has been hailed by APAL.
The APAL Council has been working for the promotion of golf for the last seven years. The team of the Council comprises of representatives from R&A, members of the PGA, people from the golf industry and some senior members of the PGA staff.
