Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers indicated that he will not aim to completely transform the playing style of the Reds in his bid to change the current dreary situation at Anfield, stressing instead that for him the only way of going about things was
the ‘Liverpool way’.
The Northern Irishman earlier spent a two-year stint with Swansea City, helping them get promoted in the Premier League at the start of the 2011/12 season. Even though the Swans eleventh place finish in the preceding term itself merited commendation, the
39-year old is more credited for developing a Barcelona like passing technique at the Liberty Stadium, hitherto an alien style in the Premier League.
With Rodgers taking over the management http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 from Kenny Dalglish earlier in the month, it has remained a popular opinion that he will look to implement his own ideas and playing philosophy at the Merseyside club, in a bid to reinvigorate the Reds ambition
of returning Champions League football to Anfield.
However, Rodgers revealed that he will not seek to overhaul Liverpool’s style of play, and will look to get the best out of the players by continuing with the Reds trademark offensive and direct attacking football.
He told the club’s official website, “The way I want to play here is the Liverpool way. The history and tradition of this club has been about offensive football, attacking football - but always with discipline.”
“Of course I'll bring in a certain philosophy which I'm attached to, but the principles of your game are based around the players.”
Even though Rodgers expressed his admiration for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s brand of “Tiki-Taka” football, the Irishman admitted that his first and foremost priority was to get the Reds back on winning ways.
He let out his aim of introducing attacking and imaginative football at Anfield, with special emphasis on securing results.
He added, “It doesn't matter if it's Tiki-Taka football or possession football - the supporters and all of us want winning football. That's what the philosophy will be about.”
