Rodgers has admitted that Liverpool might look to sign the American midfielder, Clint Dempsey who has been undoubtedly impressive for Fulham over the past two Premier League seasons. There was speculation surrounding Dempsey’s
future at Fulham during the last summer transfer window as Liverpool were interesting back then to bring the versatile midfielder to Anfield but that interest never materialized into anything substantial.
However under their new manager Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool are looking to change the way they play. Kenny Dalglish was relieved of his duties as the club manager right after the season ended as Liverpool failed to qualify for
the UEFA Champions League and even challenge for the Premier League title.
Since then Rodgers has hinted that he will change Liverpool’s fortunes but it will take time as they need to be patient with his ideology. At Swansea City, Rodgers played offensive football and that is what he will try to bring
to Liverpool as well.
The Reds’ manager said, "Clint is a player we've enquired about, it is as simple as that. Ian Ayre, our managing director, has spoken with the club to see what the position is. That is where we're at. He's a very talented player
but we don't like to talk about other clubs' players."
He added, "We never talk publicly about our transfer targets. However, any team would be lucky to have Clint Dempsey playing on their squad.” Dempsey’s arrival will definitely give Rodgers some options in the final third of the
field as the American playmaker can play as a secondary striker or on either wing as well.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s main target for the upcoming Premier League season will be to challenge for a UEFA Champions League place and be consistent with their results in the league as that is where their season usually falters more often than
not.
