Brendan Rodgers claims Suarez understands the club’s stance – Football News
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Luis Suarez is happy at the club and that the striker understands the situation well. He stated that the player is working hard in training and will surely be fit before the start of the season.
The Uruguayan international has been a subject of interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 over the past few weeks. The striker has been linked with the London side after the Gunners failed to bring in Gonzalo Higuain to the club. They have had two official bids rejected for the striker by Liverpool.
Rodgers stressed that the media keeps developing new stories every day and the truth is that there is no new update. The manager claimed that Suarez is happy at the club and is working hard in training. He added that the player is a bit disturbed with the fact that he will miss some part of the start of the new season due to suspension.
“It's a story that can keep running but for me there is no new news. Luis is happy. He totally understands the club's point of view. He's in a difficult position in terms of not being able to play because of his suspension - he will sit out the first six games and he will miss playing football,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Swansea City boss claimed that the player has had a busy summer and it is always difficult to get back to fitness quickly. Rodgers wants Suarez to step up in training so that he can reach the level of fitness the other players have achieved.
“He's working hard and remains part of the group. It's obviously difficult when you come back after a break but he has settled in and has been working well. He needs to get up to speed and we will continue to work to get all the players ready for the first game of the season,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 have been linked to a number of players this summer and there are rumours that Rodgers wants two or three more players to his squad before the season starts.
