Liverpool’s manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Andy Carroll is determined to stay at Liverpool and prove himself to the Merseyside faithful. Carroll was sold by Newcastle United to Liverpool in January of 2011 for 35 million
pounds and became the most expensive Englishman in the Premier League.
However the striker has not lived up to the expectations that have surrounded him. Liverpool’s fans thought that Carroll would form a new partnership with Luis Suarez and become a vital cog in their team’s squad but now Carroll
seems to be on the fringes of Liverpool’s squad. The English forward has been woeful during his time at Anfield and he has hardly won over the fans to his side as well.
In such a situation, speculation surrounding his future has pushed some fans to even suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 should cash in on their 35 million pound investment even if it comes at a potential loss. Newcastle United and West Ham
Untied are the two clubs that are interested in signing Carroll but now the Englishman has suggested that he is set to stay at Liverpool.
Rodgers said, "Not that I am aware of. Obviously I'll know more when we get back. There has been a lot written about Andy, but you saw today he's happy to be here and he's worked very well since he's been here.”
He added, "The reality is he's still a Liverpool player, he can fit into how I want to play, and he's happy here. I'm certainly not wishing to push him out of the door." Liverpool’s new manager, Rodgers is on uncertain ground at
the moment because if he lets Carroll leave then he will have limited offensive options.
On the other hand, Carroll has hardly been a model figure at the club in terms of his performances but things might change for the English forward in the upcoming league season which kicks off in August.
