http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 boss, Brendan Rodgers revealed that he has got no communication void with the Merseyside club’s owners and managing director as he talks to them on a daily basis, and that he has been given the authority of signing new players.
Since taking over the Anfield managerial throne earlier in June, the Northern Irishman is yet to make his first transfer in the summer window. It was widely believed that he would succeed in landing the former Hoffenheim midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson at Anfield
keeping in view his affinity with the Icelandic International at the Liberty Stadium.
However, he missed out on the player after he opted to join Tottenham Hotspur instead.
One idea which exists in different circles is that the former Swansea boss has been given the management post with limited powers and authority- believed to be the major reason behind the club’s failure to reach to an agreement with their former target,

However, Rodgers dismissed the impression by saying that he enjoyed the complete support and confidence of the club’s managing director Ian Ayre over the subject of picking his transfer targets. He further claimed that there was no communication gap whatsoever
between him and the members of the Reds top hierarchy.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I am quite relaxed in relation to the type of targets I want to bring in.”
“That was one of the key points for me coming in. I believe in communication, which is very important, so I have a really good working relationship with the managing director Ian Ayre, and he and I speak on a daily basis.”
On the subject of making new signings and the type of reinforcements that he was looking to bring in, Rodgers indicated that he was satisfied with his current set of players and will require further time to make an assessment of his targets. He explained
that like other clubs, he will make at least two or three signings in the summer which will serve to complete his ‘jigsaw’.
“Like any manager, you want to add the other pieces that can complete your jigsaw and that's something that we're doing over a period of time.”
