http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Luis Suarez is at the same valuation as his Uruguayan teammate, Edinson Cavani. He insisted that the player has immense quality and will not be sold for a bargain deal. He further added that Liverpool will not be selling their prized asset this summer and hinted at more arrivals in the summer transfer window.
Edinson Cavani joined Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week for a staggering £55 million fee and signed a five-year deal with the French club.
Rodgers stated that the offer from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 was certainly not enough for his side and insisted that the attacker is in the same bracket as Cavani. The Gunners had made a £30 million bid for Suarez this month which the Merseyside giants immediately refused.
The manager added that even if a club comes with the same valuation as Cavani, it is not certain the Suarez will be sold as the club wants to build a side around him.
“When you consider that Cavani has gone for £55million you know... Luis is up there in that bracket of top talent. Obviously it was an offer [from Arsenal] we didn't deem worthy of the talent and even if they came back with that kind of amount [£55m] there's no guarantee he would be sold even for that because we are trying to build something here,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the former Swansea City boss stated that the club is completely in control of the situation and is keen to add some more players to the squad before the season begins.
“We are totally in control of the situation, it is one where we don't have to sell. We are prepared to get some players in and spend money without having to sell Luis Suarez,” he concluded.
Liverpool have already brought in the likes of Iago Aspas, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-c4309 and Simon Mignolet to strengthen the squad this summer. There are rumours that a minimum of two more players will be added to the team before the season starts next month.
