The ongoing rumor involving Brendan Shanahan is that he may close out his stellar career where it all began- in New Jersey. He is a free agent as of now, and has expressed a desire to return to the Rangers.

i think he will probably retire because the rangers have no room for him. they don't have any money to sign him. he said he doesn't want to play with any other team so he will probably retire. i am going to miss him if he does

It seems like he wants to play another seasons and the rumor is that he is only currently in talks with the Rangers.

He is NOT on the Rangers, I think that he is doing the same thing as Mats Sundin, where he is looking but might retire but I think he is leaning more towards retiring.

Apparently quite a few teams are talking to his agent.

New York would like to keep him and I think he wants to stay there but there are salary cap issues. Rumors are that he would like to stay in the East (NY, NJ, Toronto, and Montreal) but St. Louis has confirmed they have talked to his agent as well.

We'd like to see him back in St. Louis for a year.

1. Our team still sucks

2. A couple of the prospects won't be ready to play next year (certainly not the first part of the season)

3. We're not going to pay full price to see this team

4. The Blues might pull out of the city in a couple years because the lack of ticket revenue (no wonder...because the team sucks)

5. Shanny WILL bring back the Blues fans of the 90's and get their butts in the seats
