Brenden Hall earns Men’s 100m butterfly Multi-Class gold – McDonald's Qld Swimming Championships
Brenden Hall of Grace SC displayed his astonishing skills by earning gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly event in the Multi-Class group on day five of the 2011 McDonald's Queensland Swimming Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre on Wednesday, December
14.
The 18-year-old Hall qualified in the final round as top contender for gold medal. He proved his eligibility for the crown of butterfly discipline by completing his swim in a time of 1 minute and 02.31 seconds.
He was followed by Chikara Ara of Japan Swimming Federation, who remained nearly 11 seconds behind him and stepped on the podium for silver medal by reporting an effort of 1 minute and 13.12 seconds.
The 36-year-old Ara remained only 0.46 seconds ahead of Chris Lyons of TSS Aquatic Inc, who proved his mettle for bronze medal of the event by concluding his swim in a time of 1 minute and 13.58 seconds.
The 20-year-old Lyons was trailed by Rowan Crothers of Albany Creek Swim Club Inc, who settled on the finishing wall for fourth fastest spot with a timing of 1 minute and 12.39 seconds.
The 14-year-old Crothers stayed 2.16 seconds away from his following rival, Norihide Inui of Japan Swimming Federation, who ended his race with a fifth fastest timing of 1 minute and 14.55 seconds.
The Japanese swimmer was chased by Cameron Schefman of Yeronga Park SC Inc, who occupied sixth best spot of the race by completing his race in a time of 1 minute and 15.74 seconds.
Schefman remained in a lead of 0.34 seconds over his subsequent competitor, Zachary Kimber of Surfers Paradise SC Inc, who reached the finishing wall with a timing of 1 minute and 16.08 seconds for seventh position.
Ethan Chan of Redcliffe Leagues SC Inc remained nearly four seconds away from his former finisher and ended his swim with a timing of 1 minute and 20.73 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, the session came to an end after the terrific efforts of all participants in the Multi-Class category whereas the podium finishers were invited on the medal rostrum for their notable efforts after the completion of session.
