Brenden Hall grabs Men’s 400m freestyle gold – 2012 Paralympic Games
Brenden Hall of Australia grabbed gold medal of the Men’s 400m freestyle in S9 category on day six of the swimming events at the 2012 London Paralympic Games in Aquatics Centre on Tuesday, September 4.
Hall met expectations of his supporters in the eight-lap freestyle event as he improved the world mark of the event. With his alluring efforts, Hall faced no trouble from his rivals and emerged on the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 17.95 seconds.
Hall remained nearly 10 metres ahead of his closest swimmer and tapped the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 10.88 seconds for the crown of the event.
Hall was chased by Tamas Sors of Hungary, who stayed 7.07 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing blockade as second best finisher by producing a time of 4 minutes and 17.95 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Federico Morlacchi of Italy, who stayed 0.60 seconds away from his former finisher and occupied bronze medal of the event by producing a time of 4 minutes and 18.55 seconds.
Morlacchi was trailed by Jose Antonio Mari Alcaraz of Spain, who was 0.43 seconds apart and settled on the finishing end as fourth best finisher by producing a time of 4 minutes and 18.98 seconds.
Mari Alcaraz was chased by Jesus Collado of Spain, who stayed 0.08 seconds away from his preceding swimmer and finished fifth in the event by producing a time of 4 minutes and 19.06 seconds.
Collado was followed by David Grachat of Portugal, who remained nearly three body lengths apart and earned sixth place by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 21.94 seconds.
Grachat was traced by Kasper Zysek of Denmark, who was almost half body length behind and secured seventh position of the event by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 23.13 seconds.
Zysek was followed by James Crisp of Great Britain, who stayed nearly three seconds slower and hit the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 26.61 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Hall was very happy with his victory in the freestyle event.
