Brennan Boesch and Prince Fielder practicing together – MLB News
According to a leading sports website, Detroit Tigers’ hitter Brennan Boesch practiced with Prince Fielder on Wednesday. In a training session at the Tigers’ training facility, Boesch hit a drive over the right field. The hit was enormous as it ended up into a clump of trees outside the minor league complex.
The source further added that the two players have been clearing the right field fence in each of the last three days. Fiedler, who was acquired by the Tigers earlier this year, made the most of available opportunities last season to hit .299 average with 38 home runs and 120 RBI’s. On his arrival at the Tigers training camp, he also had the chance to practice with Miguel Cabrera.
The drive pulled by Boesch was momentous as it goes on to show Tigers’ hitting power and depth in the upcoming season. Fielder is expected to bat in front of Cabrera and the duo can make one of the most dangerous hitting pairs in history of Major League Baseball. Boesch will have a great opportunity to be in Fielder’s batting practice group for the entire next season. If he stays focused, he can learn new tricks to improve his swinging technique.
"I can talk hitting with him much easier than with a right-handed hitter," Boesch said. "He's an open guy, and he likes to talk about hitting. So that's fun. I'm not his shadow or anything like that. We're different hitters. Anything I can pick up by watching -- that's more my style."
"It's great to hit with those types of talents where you can measure yourself and see where you are. It's like he's been on this team for a while now," Boesch further added. "Everyone is comfortable talking with him. It doesn't feel like he's a new player."
Boesch has also shown interest in studying Fielder’s left handed stroke from a close range. Having Prince Fielder in their batting lineup, the Tigers have given their hitters a chance to share their notes with one of the most dynamic hitters in the game. It will be interesting to see what changes Boesch makes his to his playing style before starting his next big league season.
