Brennan Little sides with Sean O'Hair but thats ok, Mike Weir understands his logic
Mike Weir and Brennan Little will no longer appear together in any event for 2011.
According to latest reports, Little and Weir have split up and will be following their own separate ways in future. Little had been Weir’s caddie for a stretch of twelve years and has now decided to follow the loop for Sean O'Hair.
This, marking as an astonishing split, is said to occur right after the shark shootout when Little informed Weir of his decision. Weir has collected a total of 8 PGA Tour victories where Little had been accompanying him as a caddie.
The earlier stated wins include the 2003 Masters as well.
“It was one bittersweet piece of information” Little said.
According to Little, Weir and him have had the best of times together. He has been Caddying for Weir since 1999 and said that although his time with Weir had been excellent, he couldn’t refuse Sean O'Hair’s offer.
So after 12 years, Little parts ways with Weir to caddie for Sean O'Hair in the upcoming 2011 season.
“Weir understood that this was a difficult decision for me” he said.
The forty year old golfer played the Shark Shootout till the 12th and has a history of dealing with a torn ligament in his right elbow. Weir became unfit in the days of late August that had eventually halted his play for a while.
Due to the changed conditions, the golfer thus slipped down the money list at the 151st place and lost his exempt status on the PGA Tour.
Weir has previously ruled the money listings from the 26th and 14th position in the years 2009 and 2008 respectively.
As for the Shark Shootout, The forty year old achieved the T5 position after he carded a 63 in the last round. The third round thus ended from him at fifth place, tied with his fellow competitor K.J. Choi as they both collected
$ 86,250 each for the Silly Season affair.
“This a bit of a sad news for me, but I’m happy for Little” Weir said.
According to Weir, they will be parting ways after a very long time which obviously saddens him but he also added that this is business and he couldn’t be more happy for him.
Weir will thus be entering the 2011 spell with no exempt status, no full-time coach and sports psychologist, and no caddie.
Weir also understands that Little is looking for a more secure golfer to caddie for and said that his decision is logical since he has to take care of his family too.
“My situation is just not that stable these days, I don’t know how my arm will react” Weir said.
