Brescia President Gino Corioni rues Marek Hamsik sale to Napoli: Serie A news
Brescia President, Gino Corioni, is still regretting his decision to sell midfielder, Marek Hamsik to Napoli.
Hamsik joined the Azzurri in 2007 for a mere €5.5 million fee and Corioni is still ruing that he sold the Slovakian so cheap. The Slovakian has established himself as one of the most consistent performers in the Serie A since joining the Azzurri. The 24-year-old played a huge role in helping his side to qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming campaign.
Due to his impressive performances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, Hamsik has been subject of huge interest from Italian Champions, A.C Milan, throughout the summer transfer window. The attacking midfielder is wanted by the Rossoneri but Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has ruled out his sale and has slapped a 100-million-Euros price for his superstar.
Corioni believes that Hamsik is worth five to six times of the amount he received when he sent him to Stadio San Paolo. The Brescia chief believes that the Slovakian made the right decision to stay at Napoli because they will become a great side in the future.  He added that Walter Mazzarri’s side will become one of the best teams in the country by two or three years.
Talking to the reporters the Brescia President said, “I regret letting Hamsik go to Napoli for such a low price. He’s made the right decision in staying at Napoli because that club want to construct a great side,”

“Hamsik is not a top champion, but he is still irreplaceable. Players with his characteristics should not be sold.” the Brescia chief added.
The Azzurri qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since the 1990/91 season and Corioni believes that without the Slovak midfielder, the team would have struggled in the competition. He added that the player’s of his calibre should not be sold, as he is an icon of Napoli.
The 24-year-old had a wonderful 2010/11 season and scored 13 goals from 49 appearances in all competitions last season.
