Bret Calhoun lands 2,000th victory of his career at his home track of Lone Star Park 
Trainer Bret Calhoun was delighted with the 2,000th victory of his career, which took place at his home track in Lone Star Park.
 “It’s pretty exciting that it happened there, at my home track,” said the 47-year-old trainer “It’s been a long time. You never expect to win that many races. It’s a significant amount. It feels good.”
The trainer has supervised and trained many talented runners in the past, but the ones he is known for are Dubai Majesty and Chamberlain Bridge.
Dubai Majesty, daughter of Essence Of Dubai, out of mare Great Majesty, bagged a majestic victory in the Grade 1 Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint at Churchill Downs on 5th November, 2010.
With rider H.J Theriot II on her back, the Martin Racing Stable LLC and Dan Morgan owned mare defeated, Switch, by 2 ¼ lengths.
Chamberlain Bridge, son of War Chant, out of Shes Got Class, made the trainer famous with a victory in the Grade 2  Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs on 6th November, 2010, where he defeated the Ronny Werner trained Central City by 1 ½ lengths.
The trainer was delighted with his great achievement, and stated that he did not focus on the past or the present but always aimed for victories in the future.  
He stated that: “That’s one thing about this game: You can’t rest on your laurels,” he spoke in an interview after his accomplishment.
“I’m very excited about the accomplishment, but you can’t celebrate too long. Today’s another day. So I’m down here trying to prepare, trying to fine the next good horses.”
Bret Calhoun, the talented trainer, has had many successful runners in his career, but with his list of achievements, he will not stop easily.
He aims to continue training horses for the future, with the hope that one day he will have 3,000 victories under his belt.
The story of his success is simple, he runs his horses in the races that are easy for them to win, these are the tactics that he has been pursuing, and he will continue to do so in the future.
