  1. He isn't doing the right thing at all.  Last season was his best and its not going to happen again this year (I'm sorry I know it hurts) but i think he could get away from it.  I know this is a stupid comparison but if you've seen the Incredibles movie ( a must) he just cant get away and the passion for the game is crazy.  The fans... everything

  2. I think he is.  The Packers have been pretty patient with his indecissiveness the last three years.  Everyone knows it's hard to leave the game (even those of us who've never played professionally) but come on.  Everyone knows that the NFL is a business (which he's even said so) and the Packers made a business move by drafting Aaron Rodgers three years ago, when Favre first started his retirement talk.

He put the team through major headaches when he basically teased the team and the fans with his "I'm gonna retire.... nah, just kidding" routines, and the Pack have finally had enough.  He went through all the hoopla and crying at his retirement speech, which made it seem like he was actually being sincere.

As I said, the Pack has had enough, and annointed Rogers the new starter.  I'm willing to bet Favre was OK with retirement until he found out the Pack didn't have him in their plans, or came crawling to his doorstep with the teary-eyed "please, Brett, just one more year?" spiel.

Now, he wants to play elsewhere (as in, Minnesota) and prove he isn't done.  Why do you think he isn't thrilled about being traded in general, and to the Jets or Bucs specifically?  He really wants to be released (he isn't happy that the Pack would ask "a king's ransom" for a trade to the Vikes) so he can jump over to the Vikings and attempt to give the Pack that "Ha-Ha!  See what you threw out?" song and dance.  Not to mention the Vikes have Adrian Peterson and a top 5 defense.  No matter how he sugarcoats it, Favre wasn't happy with the Pack's team composition.  Minnesota would give him his best chance at a last hurrah.

Let him stay at the bottom of the depth chart.

  3. NO way!!  Think about his current streak of not missing a start and his age.  The chances are he is do for a good injury( it is football) and hopefully it won't damage his life after football.  He has had a great run and played longer than most.  He holds the packers hostage every year by possibly retiring.  It is in his head that he knows he should.  He should follow that and not his drive to play football.  Besides, he has a family to take care of.
