  1. Odds are that someone will break Farve records...Manning is most probable.  Although Farve could have a george blanda type career assuming he is not injured and does not have an embarrassing season.  Im sure the Jets would like him to play long enough to open their stadium.

  2. Some of them are reachable - especially if manning and brady stay on their respective paces. But others are pretty far out of reach simply because the length of time one would need to play to reach them. I think you won't find players staying in the league that long.

  3. I think someone will break his record, but it won't be any of the current QBs.  I want to say Manning will do it, but I think he works too hard at being a QB to keep it up as long as Favre has.  Hey, who knew it would be a guy who washed out with the Falcons from Southern Miss that would set all these records.  The guy who breaks the records will probably be someone we don't expect at the beginning.

  4. Brett Favre has sveral well known records - I'll break it down by category to see who can break which record.

    Most AP NFL MVP awards: 3 (1995, 1996, 1997)

Most consecutive starts by a quarterback (NFL): 253 (275 including playoffs)

Most games started by a quarterback: 253 (275 including playoffs)

Most wins by a starting quarterback (NFL) regular season career: 160(Regular season record: 160-93)

    Most career passing touchdowns: 442

    Most career passing yards: 61,655

    Most career pass completions: 5,377

    Most career pass attempts: 8,758

    Most career interceptions thrown: 288

Most career games with at least three touchdowns: 63

I think that several of these records are reachable by a familiar name: Peyton Manning - In truth more than likely Manning has a better shot at many of the passing and start numbers - Manning is currently at 306 passing TD's and he's never had a season in which he's thrown less than 26 (including his rookie year) - If you give him and average of 30 TD's a year over the next 5 years he's past Favre's current numbers.  Even if Favre adds more to the tally Manning is very much in reach of him.  He also has great yardage numbers and his completions and attempts are closer (although he has a better career completion percentage - may beat Favre in completions but not attempts).  Also, Manning's durability has been great - he's now at 160 straight starts - although Favre was definitely the modern day Ironman you can't help but be impressed with Manning.  I'd say Favre is catchable (although the starts record just seems more unlikely - you have to be very lucky to stay uninjured - and also Manning is coming into this season off surgery so it may not last much longer).

Brady is a huge winner, but he doesn't compare to Manning on pure statistics.  Manning is by far the one with the best shot (wouldn't be surprised to see Brady nab the MVP awards though)

  5. Manning has a good shot at the records for career yards and TD's if he can stay healthy. I think Favre will put the career INT record out of reach in NY, though.

  6. I really don't see anybody breaking Brett Farve's records the guy is 38 and still playing. Peyton Manning can break his records, but would have to play for 7 more seasons which would make him 39. It is like people that say Alex Rodriguez will break Barry Bond's home run record  it is likely if he stays on the pace, but he will need 4 more seasons of 50 home runs. Which would make Rodriguez 37 how likely is it that he will hit 50 more home runs for 4 seasons not likely.  Rodriguez likely will need 6 seasons with 35 home runs so he will be 39 years old. Can Rodriguez do it? Who knows ? Will A-Rod HR numbers drop off below 25 HR when he hits a certain age if he does he will have no chance so who knows? Will A-Rod retire before 37 or 39 years old who knows? For now Barry Bonds is the all time HR leader.

Peyton Manning has the best chance to beat Brett Farve's record in Most wins by a starting quarterback in the regular season.
