Brett Favre - a look into a glorious career
The NFL world recently saw one of the greatest players of the game, Brett Favre retiring and ending a career that was flooded with achievements. The great player had an amazing career, a career that gave us excitement, moments to cheer about and sometimes frustrations. The great player possesses a rich legacy that puts him among the best players in the NFL. Favre had a career that has a long list of memorable moments and some of them are discussed below.
Favre started his illustrious career in 1992 on the 20th of September. The level of determination and skill that this player had, was finally given a stage on which he could show what he was made of and put up a performance that convinced that there was much more that this player could offer. Replacing Don Majkowski, Favre started his first match fumbling the football a few times that resulted in the fans booing him but the solid finish he made by the touchdown and the victory won the hearts of many.
Favre was one of those quarter-backs who never gave up and tried his very best till the end. The great player had the ability to put in the very best he had that most of the time resulted in victory for his side. Though Favre failed on numerous occasions on interceptions (317) but the quarterback still managed more touch downs than this (497). Coupled with this were his passing abilities, which put him ahead of any other player for the touchdown passes.
Favre not only managed to achieve personal milestones here but also led the Packers to glorious years that they did not enjoy for quite some time. Before this extravagant quarter back joined the Packers, they were in disarray. Favre enjoyed his first win at the team against Cincinnati, and two years later led the Packers to their first playoff win in 11 years.
22nd December 2003 witnessed this quarter back breaking down in tears when Packers totally dominated and won the game against the Raiders. A day before his dad passed, this win was very emotional and had great importance for him. The season that this player dominated completely without any doubt was the 1995 season. One of his impressive performances was in November against the Bears. Coming back after an ankle injury and covering over 300 yards Favre cemented his place among the best in business. For this, he received the MVP award in 1995.
Another game that holds great importance in his life is the 1999 encounter against the Minnesota Vikings. During the match, the Vikings established a good healthy lead against the Packers but with moments left, the Packers came back to steal the victory. The Packers managed to defeat their rivals that ended with a 23 yard pass to Corey that sealed the comeback.

Favre played an outstanding match against the 49ers after which he was regarded by experts as the superhero of the match. His ability to recover from situations that would have been impossible to come out of make him a legend in doing the impossible. During this match the quarter back threw a deep pass that grabbed the win for the Packers. Another moment that would regard him as one of the best would be the successful 99 yard pass that the quarter back made to his team mate Robert Brooks.
A legend is one whose career along with the personal achievements has a championship to his name. Favre managed to do that in 1997, which further cements his place as a legend of the sport and being regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. During the course of the season Favre managed to complete 14 of 27 passes for 246 yards and was able to make two touchdowns.
