Brett Favre and the 20 Million?

Would any of you agree if you thought at any second of taking the money you would of already said yes?...or is this a way for Favre to wait it out until he gets back on the roster to be traded?..I mean if you think about it By taking time to "Think" about iit means your team and media won't be bothering him as much...all they would ask is if he had an answer and he would answer no and that was it for the day...and before he had media asking the management all these questrions and bothering him at his home....Because by now if I thought yes..I would have done it and got the 20 Million for retirement

Because really why would he do this for money?...he was on the roster making 13 mil a year...instead of taking the bribe its 2 mil a year

He wants to play but force the Packers (By waiting it out before the deadline) to the only teams that would be crazy enough to give a first round Draft pick

Chicago or Minnesota

  1. I see your point. But also, if he takes the money right away, then he really looks even more selfish than he already does. In a way, he needs to "think about it" for public perception. If he really wanted to play, he could have been playing for the Jets for the last two weeks. His plan to be a Viking didn't work. He's biding his time to look good and then he'll take his ball and his 20 million and go home. The sad part is that Packer fans will still love him even though he used them and lied to them. He never wanted to play in Green Bay.

  2. what exactly is the question

  3. I defintely whould have already taken the $20 million, I mean now he'll get at least $2 million a year for the next ten years, the reason Brett is taking time to "think" about it is, his agent is trying to get more money out of the Packers, here's a bigger question for you what is this going to do for Superstars in the future are you going to agents negotiating retirement packages for their clients now, the Packers know once Favre reports to training camp they're bluff will be called and they will either trade him to a team of his choosing (got get something for an NFL legend don't you think) or give him is outright release, there will be way to many distractions to have call the plays in as the backup.

  4. I disagree. The main reason being, if Favre is traded, which is almost certain should he be reinstated, his contract will likely be re-worked. He probably won't play for the full 3 years (the remaining length of his current deal), so, at the VERY most, he'll make the $12 million he's owed for this season, and probably less. If he takes the marketing deal the Packers are offering him, it will pay him for the next ten years, and will go a long way toward rebuilding the damage his image has taken this offseason. I know it seems strange, but ballplayers have been known to do awful funny things for money.

As for the part about "waiting" to give his answer...it looks like Goodell is going to make his ruling by Monday, so by Tuesday evening Favre will know his fate one way or the other. I don't see what good delaying his answer will do for him.
