Brett Gardner will undergo right wrist surgery soon

The New York Yankees have been moving towards the coming year with a structural plan to ready the roster for the challenge in the 2011 regular league. Slated to start in April, major league baseball’s on – the field season is going to bring in a lot of action
on all fronts, as teams in the National League and the American League will hope to go through to the playoffs.
A major tuning on the 40 man roster has been on the agenda for many clubs and the Yankees  have observing the free agency on replacements for players who have either moved out of the club or have retired from the game. Andy Pettitte is going to be greatly
missed by the Yanks and the opportunity to sign on someone else will become a testy job.
There is still a dispute to sort out in the shortstop position. Derek Jeter, along with his agent, Casey Close, is looking for a raise in his wages and that isn’t something the Steinbrenner siblings are swallowing easily. A 3 year $45 million deal is on
the table but that is not getting the veteran any valuation on his contribution, in his perspective.
With all that said, the Yankees are looking to refresh their squad, by repairing most of their human resources. One of the latest casualties to the injuries’ list is Brett Gardner. The outfielder is scheduled to undergo a right wrist surgery in the coming
days and he sustained the damage in June, during a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. A fastball from Clayton Kershaw saw the hitter get injured. Imminently, he had to take up a Cortisone shot during September to quell the pain in his wrist.
The surgery is expected to take place at the New York Presbyterian hospital. The left fielder will most likely return to the side the spring training. Gardner was effective last season as his .277 batting average in 150 games saw the top star drive the Yankees
to the American League Championship. He slotted home 5 homers and drove in 47 runs. His slugging percentage went up to .379. With 97 runs in the season, he’s one of the best fielders in the side.
The Yankees will surely be pleased if the fielder can come back for the damage he sustained last season. General Manager Brian Cashmore is expected to lower costs. Losing Brett could spell disaster for the club in the coming season.
