http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brett-Holman-c8047, the Australia international, has revealed he is looking forward to playing for English Premier League side Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old admitted he was hoping to have an instant impact on the Villains, when he joined them next season. The Australian Player of the Year will join the English Premier League side on a free transfer from AZ Alkmaar.
Holman had agreed to sign with Aston Villa in March when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert. Lambert previously managed Norwich City but took over the manager’s position at Aston Villa this summer.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Australia-c746 international revealed playing for Aston Villa was a dream come true for him and he was eager to get started for the Premier League side. Holman admitted he wanted to make a name for himself with Aston Villa and was looking forward to the new season kicking off.
Holman said in an interview:
“I am so happy to be here. It's a dream come true to be a Premier League player. To have that opportunity at a club with the history and tradition of Villa is fantastic.
There are big names here. I was more than aware of the quality players at Villa, even though I've obviously come from the Eredivisie in Holland.”
The forward revealed he was aware of the quality the Premier League side possessed, with the likes of striker Darren Bent playing in the team. He admitted the English striker had class and was looking forward to joining up with him in attack next season.
In the 2011-2012 season with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar, Holman made 42 appearances in all competitions and found the back of the net seven times, along with 15 assists. With support from someone like Bent, Holman will have a chance of increasing his goal and assist tally drastically in the upcoming season.
He revealed:
