Brett http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lee-c72382 backs Aussie Young guns
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s veteran pacer, Brett Lee wants the Australian ODI squad to learn from the its Twenty20 counterpart, and play the game with maximum energy and stinging spirit.
Lee, who played in the two match Twenty20 series against England, was proud of the way the young guns played against the mighty English, and managed to level the series by winning the final T20 match, played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), on Friday.
The speedster, talking to the press, said, "I really enjoyed playing in the two Twenty20 matches. It was exciting and I felt like an 18-year-old. I loved every single moment of it. [The effort] was so important, especially after the Ashes... I thought it
was important we displayed a lot of energy in the T20 matches. The fielding in the second game was outstanding".
Lee showed his full fitness in the two T20’s, and hit the speeds of about 150 km/h while bowling spectacular spells. He didn’t show any signs of fatigue during the bowling and fielding, and was seen running around the field like a youngster.
After this performance, he hopes to win the first ODI for his side, which is due to be played later today, against England, at the MCG.
Lee has been practicing and working hard on his fitness in order to represent Australia in next month’s Cricket World Cup, set to begin in the sub-continent from the 19th of February. He said, "I want to be on that plane. I've been working towards
playing in the World Cup and I have tried to tick off every single box that needs to be ticked".
Speaking further on his preparations for cricket’s most cherished tournament, he said, "But you can't put too much pressure on yourself… I have done a lot of work to ensure I've given myself every chance to make the team. I really want to be there, and I
think a few wins in this one-day series against England will help prepare Australia for the World Cup. We have the players and the team to do it, too".
Australia has had a devastating summer, where they lost the Ashes to the English, at home, after nearly twenty four years. Before the Ashes, the Aussies were dethroned from their number one spot in Test cricket by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 during Australia’s tour of India.
Brett Lee hoped the ODI series against England would bring better fortunes for the struggling Kangaroos just in time before the World Cup.
