Australian speedster and the nation’s fastest bowler, Brett Lee, believes that his side will regain its previous standing as the cricket world’s No. 1 Test team.
The 34-year-old gave his comments citing Australia's impressive win at the recently concluded 5 One Day International (ODI) series against the Sri Lankan hosts. The Aussie tourists are currently leading the Test series, that comes as the final leg of the
their ongoing tour to the island.
“We won ODI series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. We are 1-0 up in Tests now. We are on our road to glory. We are enjoying being the No 1 in ODIs and hopefully we will get back our No 1 rank in Test cricket,” said the confident Lee.
Although Lee has already bid farewell to the Test format of cricket, the speedster still stands confident for his team to regain its past glory as Test champions, a position the Kangaroos lost over the past couple of years.
However, the Australian cricket fraternity has been undertaking all possible measures in order for the outback squad to make a revival. Evident to this has been the recent, meticulous overhauling throughout the ranks of Cricket Australia (CA), primarily
on the selection board.
Lee however, revealed that he has no plans of returning to the format since his departure in 2010 but stated that he is enjoying every bit of cricket left for him to play, especially the limited overs, Twenty20 format.
“I am loving every single day playing cricket. I don't put pressure on me. That is the reason, I am happy, I am contented, I am smiling” said Lee.
As for the fast bowler’s comments about England’s newly earned Test Champions title, Lee stated that the team had the home turf advantage which it used quite brilliantly against the Indian visitors.
The speedster served Australia for almost a decade under the Test format, marking his debut in December 1999 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and since then went on to serve his national team in 76 matches, securing 310 wickets, at an average of 30.81.
