Lee could play for New Zealand first class team
Brett Australian pace bowler Brett Lee may play for the New Zealand first class side of Wellington in New Zealand’s forthcoming season. Lee's manager Neil Maxwell said that there is a good chance of Lee
featuring in as many as seven T20 games for the Wellington side if things go as per plan. The agreement between the bowler and the first class side has yet to be signed.
New Zealand’s domestic Twenty20 competition, which is played in December would coincide with the domestic cricket played in Australia as well. Lee, who is retired from Test match cricket, will not be a part
of the Ashes series around the same time, but will be turning out for his home side of New South Wales in the domestic one-day competition. This could mean that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 will be without Lee for a few games. The New South Wales cricket association is yet
to approve the contract.
Maxwell said, “We've been given the okay by Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823, which I don't think will be a problem,”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lee-c72382’s cricket career has nose-dived in the last couple of years due to his issues with injuries. He played in the Champions League T20 in 2009 after missing out on months of cricket. However, after immediately
leading his side to a win in that tournament, he managed to miss the ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 due to an elbow injury and has since then played only in a few games in the Indian Premier League this year.
Lee is not the only Australian planning to play in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Central-Districts-c777 side in the T20 competition, while Shan Tait is close
to signing a deal with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canterbury-c775 side. International cricketers like Dimitri Mascarenhas and Tillakaratne Dilshan have all played in the T20 tournament in New Zealand in the past.
