Australian pacer Brett Lee expressed his confidence in playing the International Cricket Council’s World Cup in February 2011.

Lee who has an impressive record of claiming 310 wickets for Australia in Test matches has now restricted himself to limited-overs matches and his latest form shows that a World Cup appearance in 2011 is within reach.
The former Test pacer conceded that he is content with his limited overs play and has overcome the fact that he is not playing Test cricket or the Sheffield Shield matches as he is “enjoying the game as much as ever.”
He commented that if he was “playing Shield cricket” he would have to “go back and play Test cricket.”
The veteran who has 186 One Day internationals and 76 Tests to his name is focusing on making a return to cricket’s prestigious event, the ICC World Cup.
“Long-term I want to be playing for Australia during the World Cup”, Lee admitted and he surely is working toward taking each step strongly and steadily as led the Blues in the Ryobi One-Day Cup with a seven run victory.
He said that when he retired he felt that the time was right for him even though he could play Test cricket for the next couple of years yet he wants to focus on his long-term goals. He said that he knows his job is to do
“well with the ball and the rest will hopefully take care of itself.”
He shared his long-term goal with the media- to play the World Cup in the sub-continent.

He however admitted that he still finds himself staring at the television whenever a Test match is broadcasted but he has no regrets since announcing his retirement from Test form of cricket last February.
